The 2026 Virginia spring turkey season runs from April 11 to May 16, 2026, featuring a three-bird annual limit (bearded only in spring) and a, Youth/Apprentice weekend on April 4-5. Early season (April 11-26) hunting ends at noon, while the late season (April 27-May 16) allows all-day hunting until sunset.

California turkey hunting includes a main spring season (typically from late March through early May) focused on bearded turkeys, as well as a fall season from November to December when either-sex birds may be taken. For 2026, the spring season runs from March 28 through May 3, with extra opportunities for junior hunters and archery-only dates.

Florida's 2026 spring turkey season begins March 7 (South of SR 70) and March 21 (North of SR 70), offering opportunities to hunt Osceola and Eastern wild turkeys. The season includes a 2-bird bag limit, expanded 4-day youth hunts in late February/March, and new non-resident restrictions on certain public lands.

Indiana turkey hunting starts with a Spring season (April 22–May 10, 2026) for bearded/male turkeys. The Fall season typically runs from October through January for either-sex birds.

With cool mornings, warm afternoons, and chilly evenings, putting together a spring turkey hunting kit can initially seem like a challenge.  Luckily, the process is relatively straightforward. However, with some sensible layering, carefully selected fabrics, and quality gear, you'll be well on your way to building a turkey-hunting wardrobe that will keep you cool, calm, and comfortable.
