The 2026–2027 Georgia dove hunting season opens on Saturday, September 5, 2026. The state splits the season into three segments across the fall and winter, allowing a daily bag limit of 15 mourning or white-winged doves combined.

For the 2026-2027 Texas hunting season, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission has approved a major change, allowing the South Zone to open on September 1, aligning with the North and Central zones. This makes September 1st the statewide opening day, replacing the special white-winged dove days in the South Zone with a consolidated season structure.

Where states offer it, winter squirrel hunting is a nice way to unwind after whitetail season – or just in general. It allows you to continue your year spent outdoors right into the next one.
